A long time ago in London Ontario, a little boy was a rugrat of a child. Running the streets of his small farm town with the other hoodlums around the neighborhood. He would take his dad’s car for joy rides, hitchhike across the US, or get fired from every job he had. 

However, as time slowly passed on this little boy turned into a man. He moved to the United States to meet the love of his life and began a family with two amazing twin boys and later, a daughter. The rambunctious nature of his youth was slipping away as bills began to pile up and his family’s needs formed before him. A family to take care of. To protect and guide.

Gen Z and the Hierarchy

Understanding how to Get the Most from Gen Z in the Workplace.

If you want to get a Boomer to do something – Tell them to do it!

If you want to get a Gen Z to do something – Give them a bonus!

If you want to get a millennial to do something – Take a picture of them doing it and post it to Instagram.

If you want to get a Gen Z to do something – Tell their mother it needs to be done and she will do it!

As sad as it is, people are still trying to figure out how to get Gen Z motivated to work.  Here is the thing, it is not really all that hard you just have to understand where they are coming from and work to meet their greatest need.  This means we need to go back to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs

The Recruitment Process

Some of our customers have experienced the process of recruiting themselves either because they do some of their own hiring or they tried to fill a role before reaching out to us. However, lots of our customers only use agencies and don’t really understand the method behind the madness. So many people think about the recruitment process and assume it includes posting an ad and interviewing a few candidates and while yes, we do post ads and interview candidates there is so much more behind the scenes than you would expect.

The Evolution of Recruiting

Recruiting is not a new game, but we are definitely playing by new rules. Year over year recruiting continues to evolve and change. 30 years ago it was as easy as placing a sign outside your building that read “Help Wanted.” 20 years ago the process involved newspaper ads and a quick interview but now with the way that technology has evolved the entire recruitment process
