Our client, a leader in logistics solutions, is seeking a Dispatcher, Dock Worker for their Barrie location.

Shifts

Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm

Description

Ensure that freight is appropriately according to documentation and includes all documents required

Play a lead role in overseeing warehouse operations as delegated by the Terminal Supervisor

Unload/load trailers and trucks as required

Manage organization and manifests for freight

Manage dispatching of drivers efficiently

Identify and report OS&D freight using Company provided programs and tools

Prepare and complete all necessary documentation with care and precision.

Office tasks such as emails, AS400 manifesting & bill printing functions

Dispatching, answering phone calls, calling customers when required to make appointments.

Adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures.

Other tasks/duties as assigned, including house duty type tasks

Skills

Knowledge of AS400 is preferred

Strong English skills, written and oral

Knowledge of trailer/transportation industry

Strong computer skills

A team player that takes initiative and a learner attitude

Detail-oriented and ability to prioritize

Strong team player and reliable, must maintain solid attendance

Agile and physically able to lift up to 50lbs

Experience and Education:

1 year experience in dispatch and warehouse operations

Previous experience in transportation/logistics.

Forklift experience and license is required.

Grade 12 education or equivalent.

Valid Drivers License
