2 years experience is ideal, but if the driver has 1 years worth experience and perform all aspects of the role, company is willing to review
Overtime offered after 44 hours
Trailer sizes are 36ft, 48ft, and 53ft (For AZ, it is whichever is available for the driver, and delivery dependent)
Incorp drivers are not ideal, but are still willing to review
No difference between the roles of AZ and DZ
Monday to Friday
Shifts start between 6am to 8am and typically will be 12 hour shifts
No weekend work
No more than 6pts. between Abstract and CVOR
Transport of Dangerous Goods is required
Ideally looking for someone who can drive both auto and manual
Circle checks must be completed
Areas services: South as far as Newmarket, West as far as Shelburne, North as far as Parry Sound/Huntsville
Routes are always different
Steady stream of deliveries through the day, upon return drivers will be picking up and bringing back to the yard
Everything is LTL
Freight can be anything under the sun, hardware equipment to spa equipment for cottages, cables, soup/nuts, bikes
Majority of all items are solids, and will come across the odd liquid in containers and boxes.
Big customers of theirs are ULINE, Canadian Tire, Rona, Home Hardware
All items are skidded
Must be able to lift up to and including 50 lbs.
All routes are pre-planned by dispatch, loaded in order of deliveries, along with bills of lading
Driver is required to make deliveries, often times to dock doors and off load with pallet jacks but will sometimes have to utilize the tailgate of the truck
Customer integration with each delivery – typically with the receivers
Will be documenting all deliveries with e-logs
Driver must be reliable, have good communication, and driving skills
Temporary (26 weeks) to Permanent hire position.
It would be ideal that one of the candidates has a forklift license, if this candidate is multi-talented with forklift, there is room to move up to the dock or within the office with time, could be a great stepping stone for those interested.
